The main function of the extrusion rod of the aluminum extrusion machine is to transmit pressure. If the center rod is often broken, it will not only cause economic losses, but also affect production and delay delivery. If the center rod of the extrusion machine is broken, the operating rate of the equipment can only reach about 85%, which is the case in the industry. At present, we are trying to solve this problem in many ways and strive for the equipment operation rate to reach more than 98%. Therefore, the extrusion rod is also a very important part in the extrusion tool of the aluminum extrusion machine. The main reason for the rod of the aluminum extrusion machine being broken is that the center is not properly connected during installation and debugging. Then how to install and debug it correctly? Second, how to install the extrusion rod of the aluminum extrusion machine is appropriate?
The outer diameter of the extrusion rod is determined according to the inner diameter of the extrusion cylinder. The outer diameter ratio of extrusion rod of horizontal extruder is generally. The inner diameter of the cylinder is 4 ~ 10 mm smaller. When the extrusion rod works at high temperature, its end may be plastically deformed and upset. Therefore, the diameter of the end of the solid extrusion rod should be made smaller, while the inner diameter of the end of the hollow extrusion rod should be made larger, so as not to put it into the large piercing needle after deformation. In order to avoid stress concentration, the transition part of the root of the extrusion rod should be tapered and have large rounded corners with radius r ≥ 100 mm. If the arc is too small or the diameter of the root and shaft is not matched well, the extrusion rod will be broken.

1. The two end faces of the extrusion rod must be not more than 0.05mm in parallelism, and the two end faces must be perpendicular to the axis and not more than 0.05 mm in perpendicularity. The surfaces of the two end planes are smooth, especially the tail plane needs polishing, reaching Ra1.6μm or more.

2. The side surface and end plane of the extrusion rod shall not have any defects;

3. No axial bending and no external force outside the axial direction during extrusion;

4. Strictly align the extrusion rod with the center of the extrusion barrel to ensure levelness and coaxiality. The two should maintain a uniform gap to prevent collision during extrusion.

5. It is forbidden to stick metal on the extrusion rod. If metal is found, it should be removed in time. In order to facilitate removal, a little lubricating oil can be applied to the rod body.

6. The extrusion rod should not be placed in the heated extrusion cylinder for a long time to prevent the temperature rise of the rod body from increasing and reduce its service strength;

7. The hollow extrusion rod and the extrusion rod for the fixed gasket shall ensure the roughness of the inner hole and the concentricity with the extrusion needle and the guide rod to ensure that the extrusion needle and the guide rod can move freely in the shaft hole;

8. If the working end surface (inner and outer surfaces) of the extrusion rod is found to have collapse and deformation, it shall be repaired in time;

9. The pressing sleeve fastening device at the root of the extrusion rod shall be flexible and adjustable, durable, and checked and adjusted regularly to ensure the concentricity and levelness of the extrusion rod;

10. Special tools must be used for handling and replacing the extrusion rod to prevent collision and safety accidents.

11. The extrusion rod must be regularly tested, such as hardness, test size and levelness, alignment centrality, etc. Any problems found should be handled in time.
